If you are working with older adults as a professional caregiver or first responder within the Island Health footprint, Eldercare Foundation may be able to help you further your education. If you are a University of Victoria student and your focus is related to enhancing care for older adults, Eldercare Foundation may be able to provide some funding and support for your research project.
- Jack Howard Scholarship in Gerontology
- designed to assist employees of facilities or programs supported by the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation in furthering their professional development in the area of healthcare delivery to the elderly
- Kully Sekhon Memorial Education fund
- supports healthcare workers on Vancouver Island in taking courses, attending workshops or conferences, or giving presentations at workshops or conferences; special consideration will be given to those attending sessions around inter-cultural and cross-cultural communication
- course work or focus of workshop/conference must benefit care for the elderly
- Rudi Kind Award
- designed to assist staff (preference given to LPNs and RNs) working in facilities/programs supported by the Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation to further their education by presenting or attending conferences focusing on care for the elderly
